Connecting and Aligning Through the Asia Employee Townhall

On 4 September, our Top 60s gathered at Mezzanine Floor for the Asia Employee Townhall, joining Sun Lifers virtually from across Sun Life Asia markets.

During the session, Asia leaders shared updates on business performance, key priorities and strategic focus areas across the region, providing employees with a broader perspective on the business and opportunities ahead. The townhall also highlighted regional achievements and reinforced the importance of working together to deliver on our commitments.

Following the regional townhall, Mr. Ho Teck Seng, President & Country Head, addressed attendees and shared updates on Sun Life Malaysia's business priorities, key initiatives and focus areas for the remainder of the year. The session provided an opportunity for employees to stay aligned on organisational goals and gain a clearer understanding of how they can contribute to our continued success.

Celebrating Sun Life Malaysia’s Top Agency Achievers at the Asia President's Award 2026

From 7 to 11 September 2026, six of our top agency leaders and advisors, accompanied by Mr. Ho Teck Seng, President & Country Head and Vincent Nga, Chief Agency Officer, proudly joined Sun Life advisors from across Asia at the Asia President's Award 2026 in Santorini, Greece. 

Organised by Sun Life Asia Regional Office, the annual incentive programme brought together top-performing producers and leaders from across Asia to recognise individuals who exemplify the MRA Core Values while delivering exceptional business results. The event also provided a valuable platform for participants to connect, exchange best practices and gain insights from peers across the region. 

Through meaningful networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities, attendees gained fresh perspectives on driving quality business, strengthening Client relationships and elevating professional standards. The experience reinforced Sun Life Malaysia's commitment to recognising excellence and inspiring its agency leaders and advisors to continue delivering outstanding outcomes for Clients.

Empowering TVET Students Through the InsureLit Youth Programme

On 10 September, Sun Life Malaysia celebrated the successful completion of the InsureLit Youth Programme 2026 with a closing ceremony at Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Shah Alam. Conducted in collaboration with Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) and supported by Jabatan Pendidikan Politeknik dan Kolej Komuniti (JPPKK), the programme engaged 847 TVET students across the Klang Valley, equipping them with essential financial literacy and protection knowledge as they prepare to enter the workforce. 

Throughout the 3-month programme, students participated in financial literacy workshops, InsureLit board game sessions, online learning modules and a virtual treasure hunt challenge, gaining practical insights into money management, financial protection, takaful, waqf and responsible financial decision-making.  

The closing ceremony also recognised the top-performing teams, with the team, ‘Four Real’, from Politeknik Banting Selangor emerging as champions, followed by ‘Funky4’ and ‘Teh Ais’ from Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah. The winning teams shared a prize pool of more than RM10,000 in recognition of their achievements. 

The programme concluded with its final leg at Kolej Komuniti Ampang on 23 September, marking the successful completion of its outreach efforts across participating institutions. Through initiatives such as the InsureLit Youth Programme, Sun Life Malaysia continues to support young Malaysians in building financial confidence and resilience for the future.  

Promoting Holistic Wellbeing at the Khazanah x UEM Health Carnival 2026

Sun Life Malaysia participated in the Khazanah x UEM Health Carnival 2026 on 10 September at Odyssey Hall, Mercu UEM, Kuala Lumpur, joining various health and wellness providers in promoting a holistic approach to wellbeing. 

The carnival brought together health clinics, dental care providers, eye specialists, fitness brands and healthy food vendors, giving attendees the opportunity to explore different aspects of healthy living. Represented by our advisors and Sun Lifers, the team engaged visitors in meaningful conversations on protection, savings and legacy planning, highlighting the importance of financial security as part of overall wellbeing. 

Through the event, Sun Life Malaysia strengthened our brand visibility, connected with potential Clients while raising awareness of the role financial planning plays in achieving long-term financial resilience. Participation in initiatives such as the Khazanah x UEM Health Carnival reflects our commitment to helping Malaysians build healthier lives and brighter financial futures. 

Bringing Comfort and Care to Asnaf Families

On 10 September, Sun Life Malaysia Takaful (SLMT) collaborated with Pusat Pungutan Zakat (PPZ) and Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (MAIWP) to visit two asnaf families at PPR Desa Tun Razak as part of our ongoing asnaf home makeover initiative. 

Representing SLMT were Ustaz Saifudin Gahnehman, Head of Shariah Governance, and our Shariah Committee member, Ustaz Azizi Che Seman, who met with the families and witnessed the positive impact of the assistance provided. Each family received a home makeover worth RM10,000, a ‘Bakul Rezeki’ valued at RM200, and RM500 in cash assistance. 

The visit marked the completion of the fourth and fifth homes under the initiative, bringing us closer to our goal of improving the living conditions and wellbeing of eight asnaf families. Aligned with our takaful’s Protection with Purpose campaign, SLMT continues to extend protection beyond financial solutions by supporting vulnerable communities and helping create brighter, more secure futures for those in need. 

Bringing Protection Conversations Closer to Malaysian

From 16 to 20 September, Sun Life Malaysia welcomed 482 participants at our last 'Protection with Purpose' Roadshow at 1 Utama Shopping Centre, creating an interactive space for Malaysians to learn more about financial protection and well-being. 

Throughout the five-day roadshow, participants explored a range of engaging activities, including health screenings, protection assessments, games and partner booths such as Jungle House and IJN First Pharmacy. Highlights included Spin the Sun, Make Your Financial Moves and the Sunny Photo Wall, offering visitors a fun and memorable experience while learning more about protection planning. 

As part of the Hari Malaysia celebration during the roadshow, visitors also enjoyed a special 'Saya Anak Malaysia' caricature session and the opportunity to redeem exclusive Sun Life Malaysia merchandise and stand a chance to win attractive rewards. Through initiatives such as this, Sun Life Malaysia continues to bring protection conversations closer to the community while encouraging Malaysians to take proactive steps towards achieving lifetime financial security and healthier lives.

Inspiring Financial Literacy Among Youth Through Program Inspirasi Pendidikan Kewangan Belia Negara

On 21 September, more than 100 students gathered at Politeknik Sultan Azlan Shah, Behrang, Perak for the first session of the Program Inspirasi Pendidikan Kewangan Belia Negara, aimed at strengthening financial literacy among Malaysian youth. 

The programme featured a sharing session by Ustaz Saifudin Gahnehman, Head of Shariah Governance, aimed at equipping students with practical knowledge on personal financial management, responsible financial decision-making and Shariah-compliant financial practices. Students also gained insights into avoiding illegal financial activities and scams while navigating today's increasingly complex financial landscape. 

By bringing together financial industry practitioners, students and institutional representatives, the programme supports efforts to strengthen financial literacy among Malaysian youth and empower them to build a more secure financial future.
