Sun Life Malaysia x ZUS Coffee Collab – ‘Sundays, Better Days’ Campaign
Back for a second year, Sun Life Malaysia is partnering with ZUS Coffee on the ‘Sundays, Better Days’ campaign, encouraging Malaysians to turn their Sunday coffee routine into a meaningful financial wellbeing check-in to reflect on their spending, revisit their goals, and plan small steps for the week ahead.

Every Sunday, registered participants just need to answer a quick question about Sun Life Malaysia on the campaign microsite to redeem either a free ZUS beverage voucher or rebate vouchers worth RM2, RM3 or RM5!

Through this collaboration, we continue to champion simple, everyday actions that can help people build healthier money habits over time.

Celebrating Performance and Leadership at the Best-in-Class Offsite Meeting
On 4 May, Sun Life Malaysia held the Best-in-Class offsite meeting at Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, bringing leaders together to reflect on performance, align on priorities, and strengthen our shared leadership rhythm.

The session brought together 68 participants, including Randy Lianggara, President of Emerging Markets; Ho Teck Seng, our President & Country Head; SLMT CEO Azam Yusof; members of the management committee; and heads of division and department.

The offsite provided a valuable platform to align on our growth engines, North Stars, and more importantly, provided a clear vision board to guide us towards achieving our Best-in-Class goals.
 
Bringing Comfort and Hope to Asnaf Families Through Ziarah Kasih Programme
On 5 May, Sun Life Malaysia Takaful (SLMT) joined the Ziarah Kasih Asnaf programme, organised by Pusat Pungutan Zakat – Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (PPZ-MAIWP) at PPR Desa Tun Razak, channelling RM85,600 in wakalah zakat funds to support our community.

Through this initiative, we are supporting eight asnaf families, helping to improve their home conditions while providing financial assistance and essential aid to ease their daily challenges.

The programme was attended by Dr. Zulkifli Hasan, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Member of Parliament for Bandar Tun Razak, Datuk Mohd Nizam Haji Yahya, CEO of MAIWP and En. Azam Yusof, SLMT CEO.
 
Recognising Best-In-Class Distribution Excellence
Driving our best-in-class distribution performance, May was marked by a series of celebrations that recognised outstanding results across our banca and agency channels.

Recognising Partnership Excellence at Banca Annual Awards 2025

On 5 May, we hosted the Banca Annual Awards 2025 for CIMB at W Kuala Lumpur, recognising top-performing sales representatives and celebrating excellence across our bancassurance partnership.

The event brought together 306 participants, including Randy Lianggara, President of Emerging Markets; Ho Teck Seng, President & Country Head; Alvis Wee, Chief Partnership Officer; and CIMB senior leaders including Haniz Nazlan, CEO of Group Consumer Banking, and Daniel Cheong, Head of Consumer Banking Malaysia, Group Consumer Banking.

A total of 263 high achievers were recognised across seven categories, underscoring the strength of our partnership with CIMB and our shared commitment to best-in-class distribution performance.

From 6 to 14 May, 38 top banca sales representatives joined members of our management team on an incentive trip to France Riviera in recognition of their outstanding performance.

Celebrating Top Advisors at Annual Agency Awards Night

On 25 May, the Sun Life Annual Agency Awards Night was held at Sheraton Petaling Jaya -  marking a Night of Excellence that celebrated agency success and the momentum behind our best-in-class distribution ambition.

The event recognised 109 awardees, with 230 awards presented across key categories including the 2025 Top Awards, Q1 2026 Sun Achiever Club, Diamond Producers Master Award, 2026 MDRT, 2025 MDRT Builder, and 2025 Million Dollar Agency/Unit. 

The evening was graced by Sun Life leaders including President & Country Head, Ho Teck Seng, CFO Ong Le Keat, CAO Vincent Nga and Sun Life Asia CAO Frankie Leung. In his opening remarks, Teck Seng highlighted the agency channel’s 32% year-on-year growth, which was driven by excellent productivity, professionalism and leadership quality.

The evening also recognised 35 MDRT achievers, including special acknowledgment for TOT, COT and consistent qualifiers, while encouraging both winners and rising stars to keep setting higher benchmarks as we work towards our 2026 targets and build stronger, scalable, high-performing agencies.
 
Building a High-Performance, Caring Culture
On 6 May, we held the ‘Building a High-Performance, Caring Culture’ workshop on M Floor, bringing our senior management team together for an interactive workshop on how to shape a culture grounded in both Performance and Care.

The workshop was held with Georgina Farrell, CHRO, Asia, and facilitated by Allan M. Filipowicz from Cornell University.

Through simulations, group discussions, and coaching practices, leaders gained practical tools to create psychologically safe, supportive, and high-performing teams. Key focus areas included adopting a coaching mindset, encouraging courageous conversations, and strengthening upward feedback within teams.

The workshop reflects our commitment to building a workplace where employees can perform at their best while strengthening trust, collaboration, and care across the organisation.
 
Championing Diabetes Awareness - Blood Glucose Screening Programme 2026
We are proud to bring back the Blood Glucose Screening Programme for its seventh year, reinforcing our continued commitment to help Malaysians live healthier lives through early detection and preventive care. 

Running from May to August 2026, the programme offers free blood sugar tests at 252 Health Lane Family Pharmacy outlets nationwide, giving participants a simple way to check their blood sugar levels and take early action to help prevent diabetes.

Since its launch, the Blood Glucose Screening Programme has screened over 35,000 Malaysians, raising awareness and providing peace of mind through early detection.
