Advancing sustainability is a cause close to Sun Life’s heart. On 28 October 2023, 70 Sun Lifers got down & dirty to contribute to environmental sustainability by planting 1000 mangrove saplings (Rhizophora Murconata), at Hutan Simpan Kapar Tambahan in Kapar, Selangor. This effort was made possible with the support from Yayasan Hijau Malaysia (YHM) and the Selangor State Forestry Department. The event marked the second chapter of Sun Life Malaysia's sustainable three-year tree planting initiative, #PlantTreePlantHope, which supports the nation’s National Greening Programme, aimed at planting 100 million trees by 2025.
To maintain the momentum of our 10 Years Brighter Celebration, a product reward campaign has been activated since September 2023. The campaign is structured for clients signing up for selected agency products and upon meeting the campaign criteria, they can receive a unit of a 2.25g 999.9 specially minted Sun Life Gold Coin. The reward has now been extended to CIMB clients with similar criteria. CIMB clients just need to sign up for any of the participating Life Insurance or Family Takaful products with a minimum First Year Annualised Premium/Contribution of RM18,000 and choose an annual payment mode to be eligible. Gold has long been regarded as a safe-haven asset, preserving and growing wealth for generations. Campaign period: 1 November to 31 December 2023.
In October, two global Sun Life leadership team members, Manjit Singh, EVP and CFO, and Chris Wei, EVP and Chief Client & Innovation Officer, paid a visit to Sun Life Malaysia. This visit marked Chris’ first visit to Kuala Lumpur since he assumed the role of interim Sun Life Asia President. Over the course of two days, Manjit and Chris engaged with Sun Life Malaysia’s senior management team to gain insights into SLM’s growth roadmap and the initiatives mapped out for 2024. They also met with our 'Top 70 Leaders' over a fireside chat session.
