Inspiring Smart Money Habits at UKM KL Campus!
As part of our ongoing mission to boost financial literacy through the InsureLit Campaign, we concluded the year with the final leg of the InsureLit Youth Programme at UKM KL Campus on 8 November. The session combined financial education, wellness, and interactive engagement for a holistic learning experience.
The session featured an engaging financial talk by Ziet Invest, a popular personal finance YouTuber; Emir Elias, a personal finance educator and content creator; and was moderated by Liyana Hisham, a former TV presenter and clinical psychologist. They shared practical insights on managing finances, understanding insurance and takaful, and planning for long-term goals, sparking lively discussions and helping students gain confidence in applying financial knowledge to real-life situations.
Following the talk, students got hands-on with financial concepts through the InsureLit board game, guided by our Sun Lifers. They also participated in wellness activities, including a healthy oats snack demo and health checks, reinforcing the connection between financial literacy and overall well-being.
With UKM KL as the final campus for this year, the programme has reached over 800 students across five universities in Klang Valley, reinforcing our mission to empower students to make informed financial decisions.
Empowering UIAM Students with Shariah-Compliant Financial Knowledge
On 8 November, Sun Life Malaysia Takaful Berhad (SLMT), in collaboration with the Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA), continued its nationwide youth financial literacy programme, Program Inspirasi Pendidikan Kewangan Belia Negara 2025/2026, at Dewan Wadi Budi, Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM). Funded through SLMT’s surplus sharing initiative, the programme embodies Takaful values of mutual support and community upliftment.
The session welcomed 79 students, alongside 12 faculty and partners, including Ustaz Saifudin Gahnehman; Head of Shariah Governance and Dr. Ghazali Jaapar; SLMT’s Shariah Committee. Students engaged in an interactive InsureLit board game, exploring real-life financial scenarios to strengthen their understanding of money management, savings, and the importance of Shariah-compliant financial protection.
Through this initiative, SLMT continues to empower young Malaysians to make informed financial decisions early in life, guided by Islamic principles and the spirit of Takaful — reinforcing our purpose to help people achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives.
