The Redemption Marketplace and pre-booked healthy lunches added a fun and rewarding touch to the experience.

Supporting Communities in Melaka through Zakat Contribution
Sun Life Malaysia Takaful (SLMT) continued its commitment to community upliftment and Shariah-compliant values with the second zakat contribution ceremony held on 13 June 2025 at Dewan Seri Utama, Ayer Keroh, Melaka.

Representing SLMT were our SLMT CEO En. Azam Yusof. The RM81,650 zakat contribution was officially handed over to Datuk Mohamad Azmi, representing Zakat Melaka and Majlis Agama Islam Melaka (MAIM).

This contribution forms part of SLMT’s total RM1.59 million zakat commitment for 2025, aimed at supporting initiatives that benefit the underserved communities. By working closely with state religious councils nationwide, SLMT ensures that its zakat distributions reach those who need them most.

The handover ceremony highlights SLMT’s dedication to ethical practices, social responsibility, and its ongoing role in driving positive change through meaningful contributions.

Kicking Off First Leg of InsureLit Youth Programme at Taylor’s University
As part of our ongoing mission to boost financial literacy through the InsureLit Campaign, we kicked off the first leg of the InsureLit Youth Programme at Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus on 23 June 2025. This inaugural session combined financial education, wellness, and student engagement in one impactful morning.

We engaged with over 175 students in a half-day of fun, interactive activities focused on strengthening their financial knowledge and promoting healthier lifestyles. From learning the basics of earning, saving, and protecting through the interactive InsureLit board game session to receiving one-on-one financial consultations with our Advisors, students walked away with valuable insights. The experience was further enriched by BookDoc’s diabetes health checks and an oat demo workshop, adding a wellness element to the day. Participants also enjoyed spinning the prize wheel for SLM merchandise, Nivea lotion, and additional vouchers worth up to RM20.

The highlight of the day was a financial talk featuring guest speakers Ziet Invest, a popular personal finance YouTuber with more than 10 million views across YouTube and Instagram and Yi Xuan, founder of No Money Lah. They shared practical tips on money management and post-graduation financial planning, followed by a quiz session where students competed for Touch ‘n Go vouchers worth up to RM300.

This marks the beginning of our university outreach — and we’re just getting started. Sun Lifers interested in making a difference can watch for upcoming emails from the Brand and Communications team to get involved in future InsureLit sessions across Klang Valley.

Q2 2025 Townhall: A Celebration of Legacy
On 24 June 2025, Sun Lifers gathered at the Grand Ballroom of Premiera Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, for the Q2 2025 Townhall — a special event dedicated to honouring the legacy and leadership of our ex-President & Country Head, Raymond, who has retired on 30 June 2025.

Also in attendance were our new President & Country Head Ho Teck Seng, management team members, and Sun Lifers. The event was filled with celebration, connection, and heartfelt moments — a fitting tribute to Raymond’s impactful journey at the helm of Sun Life Malaysia.

Raymond delivered his final Townhall address, reflecting on key milestones and achievements during his tenure. The event also recognised excellence with Long Service Awards and the 2024 CEO’s Award. A series of heartfelt performances by DCX Starz, Sun Squad, and Sun Life Talents, along with tribute videos and a gamified fireside chat, rounded out an emotional farewell segment before guests were treated to a buffet-style dinner to end the evening.

Sun Lifers took the opportunity to personally thank Raymond for his leadership, shared well wishes, and captured meaningful moments together. It was a heartfelt send-off for a leader whose presence, vision, and dedication have left a lasting impression across the organisation.
