Connecting Teams, Strengthening Goals: SLMT and Operations Town Halls
Aligning Goals at SLMT Town Hall 2025

On 7 August 2025, Sun Life Malaysia Takaful (SLMT) held its 2025 town hall at the Mezzanine Floor of HQ Office, bringing together 40 Sun Lifers for a morning of engagement and alignment.

The session, which was led by SLMT CEO, Azam Yusof, offered more than business updates. It was a chance to hear the company’s vision for the year ahead and to rally around shared goals.

This town hall created space for productive conversations, strengthened bonds, and reminded us of our mission: Play To Win and make life brighter for our Clients and communities.

Driving Service Excellence at Operations Town Hall 2025

On 11 August 2025, 120 members of the Operations Department gathered for the 2025 town hall to recalibrate strategies and reconnect.

The session was joined by our President & Country Head, Ho Teck Seng, COO Irina Lim, and Chief Life Operations Officer Christine Michael, who shared insights on the importance to driving operational excellence and capitalise on new technology - reinforcing our purpose of helping Clients achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives.

The session also highlighted the department’s achievement in completing the Fulfilment Project. Being the first Agile-driven initiative in Malaysia, the project successfully improved underwriting speed and accuracy with real-time decision-making that cuts processing time from up to 2 hours to 5 minutes. It also improves Straight-Through Processing (STP) with automation, reflexive questioning, and smarter workflows.

A lively quiz on the Sun Life Asia Charter added some fun to the afternoon, with three top scorers walking away with special tokens!

Recycle-Lah: Kitar@Work Educational Site Visit Inspires Eco-Friendly Habits
On 7 August 2025, 32 Sun Lifers joined a meaningful trip to visit the Recovery Initiative Sustainable Eco-Facility (RISE KL) to see first-hand how recycling works in action. The visit was part of our sustainability initiative, Recycle-Lah: Kitar@Work Educational Site Visit.

As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words, instead of only hearing about recycling, the group experienced it up close, from sorting waste to witnessing how discarded materials are given a second life.

The visit was more than a learning trip. It sparked conversations on how each of us can make a difference, and reminded us that small, everyday actions add up. Sun Lifers headed home with fresh ideas, practical tips, and a renewed sense of responsibility to build a brighter, greener future together.
