Igniting #MalaysiaKu Spirit
The month of August and September always hold a special place in the hearts of Malaysians. This is the time where we commemorate our nation’s independence and celebrate the unity and diversity of our people.
For Sun Life Malaysia, at a deeper level, both National Day and Malaysia Day, double up as the opportunity to reaffirm our identity and to deepen bonds. This year, Sun Life Malaysia aims to remind Malaysians about the true meaning of independence day, and more importantly, to reflect on the ‘Malaysia’ identity.
We have launched a weekly
#MalaysiaKu
trivia quiz to help our Clients and the public get to know Malaysia better. Look out for these quizzes, which are posted on our Instagram, every Thursday, from 12 August to 9 September 2021, and put your knowledge about our country, people, heritage, and more, to test.
To encourage more people to join in the celebration, we also introduced a ‘
360
°
Count & Win Bunga Kebangsaan’
Facebook contest which runs from 19 August until 10 September 2021. To win, participants are required to count the correct number of Bunga Kebangsaan in the 360° photo, write down what Malaysia means to them, share the contest post, tag three friends, and include the required hashtags.
10 winners with the correct answer and most meaningful caption will each win a RM100 Lazada e-voucher.

Building Financial Resilience Amid Uncertain Times
Maintaining financial wellness can go a long way, especially during times of uncertainty. This month, our Brighter Wellness Programme focused on a holistic and sustainable approach to plan, build and protect our financial health amid tough situations.
The monthly Facebook live session, held on 28 August 2021 at 8:30pm, featured Sun Life Malaysia’s brand ambassador, Hairul Azreen, together with guest speakers, Christy Ng, founder of ChristyNg.com, and Freda Liu, renowned business presenter. During the one-hour session, they discussed the importance of ensuring financial stability and also shared their own formulas in building and protecting financial health in times of uncertainty.

Celebrating The Crème De La Crème
The 2020 Sun Life Malaysia Banca Sales Convention saw the crème de la crème of Sun Life Malaysia’s leading banca partner, CIMB Bank, being honoured for their outstanding achievements. It was surely a cloud nine moment for all 149 achievers who were recognised for their amazing achievements over the past year.
Held on 13 August 2021, the virtual event, drew strong participation from over 200 CIMB sales delegates to celebrate the team’s success. Speaking at the event, our CEO, Raymond Lew, thanked the entire CIMB management and sales team for their relentless commitment and confidence in Sun Life. He also highlighted how the partnership played a key role in sustaining business growth for both organisations despite a challenging operating environment.
Meanwhile, representing CIMB Bank was Samir Gupta, CEO of Group Consumer Banking, who congratulated the achievers and expressed his confidence in maintaining business growth momentum for 2021. Also present
were senior management team members from Sun Life Malaysia and CIMB.

On 18 August 2021, Sun Life Asian leaders came together over a virtual CEO roundtable session, to share their perspectives on OneSunLife values listed below:

This engaging session was well-attended by over 1600 Sun Lifers across Asia and it was moderated by Kris Lui, Chief HR & Communications Officer for Asia. Sun Life President for Asia, Leo Grepin, started the conversation by explaining the power of the value pairs – liken them to the Yin & Yang concept – and how the complementary attributes draw on our strengths today, at the same time, encapsulate the new strengths to help us better respond to future challenges.
Then, the 6 Asian leaders from Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Malaysia and Philippines, took turns to share their views on how these value pairs can open the door to new approaches and opportunities. The panelists wrapped up by providing useful tips on how Sun Lifers could embed these value pairs in their daily work routine.
