Stay Active to Stay Strong
With the extended lockdown to curb further spread of COVID-19 virus, many of us are once again home-bound. Are you beginning to succumb to sedentary habits and feeling restless? If yes, you’re not alone!
At Sun Life Malaysia, we always care about the well-being of our Clients and communities and to help them stay healthy and active during this period, we hosted our very first Facebook live workout session on 26 June 2021.
We understand that staying home for too long may take a toll on health and stress levels. That’s why we teamed up with fitness personalities, Joanna Soh and Hazli Bojili, for a 30-minute virtual work out session to move and stretch the muscles using home equipment like a chair and towel.
During the session, Joanna Soh, who is a certified trainer and nutritional coach, also shared some practical tips on how to workout according to body type. Aside from that, lucky participants also walked away with Lazada and GrabFood e-vouchers worth RM400.
This event is the first leg of the 6-month long #BrighterWellness programme which features an array of activities to help people achieve total wellness – physically, mentally and financially!

Brighter Health Programme Returns For The Second Year
With the high prevalence of diabetes in Malaysia – four out of 10 Malaysian adults are diabetic – the on-going efforts to raise diabetes awareness and prevention are critical. For second year running, Sun Life Malaysia is continuing its fight against diabetes by providing free blood glucose screening through the Brighter Health blood glucose screening programme.
The programme will run from June until September 2021 with the aim of benefitting 12,000 Malaysians. It is supported by four health and wellness partners, namely Walnut Wellness, Roche Diagnostics (M) Sdn Bhd, AM PM Pharmacy Sdn Bhd, and Multicare Pharmacy Sdn Bhd, involving 113 participating pharmacy outlets nationwide.
Our CEO, Raymond Lew, highlighted that this programme is one of Sun Life Malaysia’s many other community partnership efforts to drive the conversation on physical wellness, with a focus on diabetes awareness and prevention.
Remember, a simple act of getting your finger prick to check the blood glucose level could help you detect the risks of developing diabetes early. Let’s #TeamUpAgainstDiabetes and help spread the news out for the Brighter Health programme.
