Moving forward with ‘OneSunLife’ Values - Stronger. Faster. Brighter
Renowned author, Simon Sinek, once said, “Customers will love the company if the employees love it too.” The success of an organisation hinge on a strong corporate culture that will ensure employees’ mindset, values and behavior are aligned to corporate goals.
At Sun Life, our culture enable us to move faster, become stronger and build a brighter workplace for all. The ‘OneSunLife’ Asia values, which were rolled out during a culture roadshow held virtually on 5 May 2021, serve to help us shape our minds, the way we act and make decisions.
Coming in pairs, the ‘OneSunLife’ Asia values work just like how we need to breathe in and breathe out to live, they draw on Sun Life’s strengths today and build on new strengths to help us tackle future challenges.
During the session, besides useful insights on how to navigate the paradox from our CEO, Raymond Lew, a lineup of distinguished panelists, comprising our head of departments, also shared their personal stories that reflected ‘OneSunLife’ Asia values.
So, let’s embrace these values together and build a brighter future for Sunlifers and our Clients!

Zooming into Virtual Hari Raya Joy
With stricter COVID-19 SOPs kicked in following the reinstatement of Movement Control Order, this year’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration remains a very different affair. However, Sunlifers kept the spirit high by celebrating the festivities digitally via the
‘Suasana Hari Raya’
get-together on 20 May 2021.
Even though we are not able to celebrate the joy of Hari Raya Aidilfitri together, the virtual celebration provided an avenue for Sunlifers to stay emotionally connected. The event featured amazing performances by talented Sunlifers, including Syamin, Dayana and Simon, special appearance by local actress, Sharifah Sofia, and fun games relating to Hari Raya traditions, for everyone to enjoy together.
Meanwhile, Clients and the public have been invited to join in the celebration by taking part in the #SiapaTekanLoceng contest to win attractive prizes. The contest runs from 5 May until 6 June 2021.

Succession Planning Is Key To Family Business
With family businesses playing a key role in driving the nation’s continued economic growth, we need to ensure the sustainability of family businesses especially when the COVID-19 pandemic is not going to settle anytime soon.
In Malaysia, one of the biggest concerns faced by these second-generation family owners is ensuring they will succeed in passing on the same business and financial legacy which they have inherited to the following generations.
Our CEO, Raymond Lew, shared his views with The Star recently, on the importance of succession planning in ensuring the longevity of Malaysian family businesses. He encourages family businesses in Malaysia to start finding new protection solutions to build and sustain wealth and better manage risks, and thrive in the new normal.
