Our priority impact areas:

Team up against diabetes

We aspire to slow the advance of diabetes through increasing the awareness of diabetes prevention, management and care. We believe by providing the right knowledge, tools and tips, we can help people take actions to manage and stop diabetes.

Some of our signature programmes:
  • Brighter Health programme which to date had provided free blood screenings for over 21,000 Malaysians.
  • Sponsorship of diabetes monitoring kits and medication for underprivileged diabetic patients.
  • Distribution of over 5,000 care packs since 2021 to spread awareness about diabetes prevention.
  • Commissioned a comic book to engage and inform young people and parents about diabetes in a fun way.
  • Funding for diabetes awareness talks to help underserved families take charge of diabetes.
Sustainable Investment
            







 
We aspire to drive the transition to a low-carbon and inclusive economy by making sustainable investing more accessible and affordable for our Clients.

Launched in 2021, our Sun Life Malaysia Global Sustainable Fund, an industry’s first ESG fund offered through selected investment-linked insurance plans, seeks to enable Clients to include ESG criteria in their investment choices, without compromising on their financial goals and protection needs.
 
In 2022, the Sun Life Malaysia Islamic Global Sustainable Fund, the first Shariah-compliant Takaful ESG Fund offered through investment-linked Takaful plans, was introduced to address Clients’ wealth and faith aspirations, at the same time, allowing them to invest in companies that not only comply with Islamic principles, but also aligned with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
 
Community Wellness 
            







 
Being a trusted and responsible business leader, our mission is to be there for our Clients, partners and communities where we operate – during good and challenging times. 

Our key community uplifting programmes include:
  • Food aid programme for over 200 underprivileged families.
  • Sponsorship of virtual mental health and fitness workshops for underserved youth and women.
  • Funding for a youth active lifestyle workshop series to help youth inculcate healthier living habits.
  • Brighter Wellness Programme, an awareness and engagement programme focusing on improving the well-being of Malaysians to live their lives healthier - financially, physically and mentally. In 2022, we curated 6 experiential programmes which successfully reached 1.7 million people and secured 308 participants.
 
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
            


 
To build a sustainable future for all, we have taken various actions to foster a culture of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I), amongst others:
  • Supported 25 women through an entrepreneurship and financial literacy programme targeting the B40 community.
  • Supported 60 children from the indigenous community through a pre-school teachers and children empowerment programme.
