Chinese New Year, also known as the ‘Spring festival’, marks the beginning of the Lunar calendar. In celebration of the Year of the Rabbit, we launched a social media campaign recounting the Chinese zodiac animals’ tale to capture the festive spirit.

Themed as ‘The Great Race’, the campaign narrates the story of the Chinese zodiac calendar, a repeating 12-year cycle represented by 12 animals and how each of them earned their place.

The campaign comprised a series of fun and engaging activities:
 

We kick-started the campaign with a 3-part animated videos titled ‘The Great Race’. Catch this old fable which tell the story of a great race between animals to determine the order of the Chinese zodiac.

This year, scores of people thronged the Golden Triangle area of the Kuala Lumpur city centre, to usher in the New Year. 

Sun Life Malaysia was proud to partner with Brandvision’s, Pavilion’s media arm, to illuminate Pavilion KL with a special ‘2023 Countdown Video’ which was played at the Pavilion Elite LED screen, Pavilion Mall’s Connection Screen and the WOLO Hotel outdoor screen on the New Year’s eve midnight.

Riding off this excitement – we charged ahead to spread the Chinese New Year festive cheers with a special sponsorship of the 2023 Chinese New Year Zodiac Predictions that showcased the wealth, health, career, and love predictions for the 12 animal signs in the Chinese zodiac.

The predictions were on display at the Pavilion Elite & Connection, Fahrenheit 88 Mall, Da Men Mall, Pavilion Bukit Jalil, and Paradigm Mall, 60 times daily at each location, from January until Chap Goh Mei.

The Distribution team kicked off the New Year on a positive note with a lively and engaging Sales Kick-off meeting held at the Avillion Port Dickson from 9 January to 10 January 2023.

A strong 130 members from the Distribution team, led by our CEO and President, Raymond Lew and accompanied by Chief Distribution Officer, Alvis Wee and Channel Heads Wong Li Ling and David Lim, gathered to align business goals and growth strategies for 2023.

On Day 1, the team members were greeted by a series of team building games including obstacle challenges designed to test their endurance, stamina, teamwork, and quick-thinking skills. These challenges not only served as leadership building opportunities but also helped to foster stronger team cooperation.

Day 2 began with a team hustle where CEO Raymond delivered an inspiring opening address and followed by business updates from Alvis Wee. Then, respective team leaders took turns to share valuable insights on topics including "Bolder Actions for Greater Outcomes" and "Empowering Channels for Better Leaps Together” which help team members geared up towards achieving the goals set for 2023.

The sales kick-off ended with the prosperity ‘yee-sang’ tossing event to usher in a bolder and energised 2023!
